Welcome to the first chapter of Mrs M Chats. Join me as I take a peek into the wardrobes of my gorgeous friends to discover their style secrets.
Amanda:
Country girl Amanda proves distance is no barrier to a well-stocked wardrobe. This stylish lady may live on a sheep and cattle station in outback South Australia but she still has an enviable collection of on-trend pieces from local brands.

Who is the real Amanda? I am blessed with the best job in the world, a mum to two beautiful daughters, but am also a jack of all trades that come with the life on a station. My days rotate around the girls, school, water runs, bookwork, drafting sheep and when I can – housework. I also enjoy a cheeky day in town for a lunch date with some lovely ladies (aka “me time”) when I’m not required by Hubby.
What would we find in your wardrobe? So many clothes that I don’t get the chance to wear as often as I like. I love dresses and pretty tops. Then you will also find the classic work jeans and shirt story. Oh and let’s not forget ‘active wear’. Every girl needs active wear to feel motivated!!
Any pieces with a story? Does the “it was on sale” story count? If so, that’s over half my wardrobe, ha ha!
What clothing is on high-rotation in your wardrobe? At the moment I am loving this pair of shorts made by South Australian designer, Liv Sienne. A light denim short, edged with lace on the pockets and hems with a high waisted elastic waistband. So comfy.
Local lovelies: Amanda’s wardrobe features South Australian designers, such as Liv Sienne (shorts), Bullrush (dress) and Mickeloo Designs (necklace).
What is your favourite season for style? Late spring/summer. The beginning of ‘can wear a dress’ weather.
What are your style tips? Dare to be a little different! I have learnt to be open minded and to try on different things/colours I wouldn’t normally wear and have found some fantastic items I now live in.
Where are your favourite places to shop? I have several and because I’m more of a touchy/feely and try on kind of girl, I prefer to shop in-store. Happy to share that I like Target – the Red Spot Boutique has come great comfy find that are perfect for the school run. Otherwise I love Forever New, Portmans, Witchery and Labels and Love at LALT Collective – I seriously do not get home enough to visit my beautiful sister-in-law and her awesome shop!
These boots are made for walking: Amanda’s much-loved R.M. Williams ankle boots reflect her country chic style.
What is your style challenge at the moment? Being able to go somewhere to wear my pretty frocks is the biggest challenge of all!
What is your favourite reason to dress up, and what would you wear? A day at the races or the polo. I would wear a dress and heels of course, although the weather will determine if I go maxi or knee length.
Lust-have of the moment? I’m currently on the hunt for a new handbag and purse as my current ones are looking a little shaggy. Thinking something leather, patterned and for everyday use but a little bit special too.
Thanks for throwing open your wardrobe doors for us Amanda!
Love, Mrs M xx
