Sunny side up

Yellow. It is a difficult colour to wear, but can be so much fun.

I’ve taken four of my favourite yellow accessories and styled them to give you some sunny inspiration on how to work different shades of bright into your wardrobe.

Witchery dress // Zu wedges // Mimco origami envelope.

Pop of colour: Certain shades of yellow – like this Mimco clutch – are made for showing-off. I’ve paired this pop of neon against a little black Witchery dress to let the bag do the talking. Add some bright earrings for a finishing touch.

St Frock dress // Mary Ted Creative necklace [gifted] // Witchery sandals.
Yellow + neutral: Yellow can work with so many colours and neutral tones are a great way to incorporate yellow in a more subtle way. This gorgeous polymer clay and linen Mary Ted Creative necklace sets off a simple white sundress, like this St Frock style.

Witchery dress // Elk necklace // Elk sandals.

Touches of bright: If you want to introduce yellow slowly into your wardrobe, look for touches of yellow like this Elk necklace and sandals. They work with a striped t-shirt dress like my favourite relaxed Witchery style.

Vintage dress // South of The Border Sydney boots // Vintage necklace.

Lemon backdrop: A soft shade of yellow creates a canvas for many colours – I’ve paired this wood/silver/turquoise necklace with a pale yellow print dress and booties from South of The Border Sydney for a boho weekend look.

Afraid of commitment? If you want to wear yellow without going full-on Big Bird, add a little touch like these teeny little earrings from PaperBiscuit [Etsy]. Similar style here.

For your wardrobe:

Clutch, $46.98: This gorgeous vintage-style clutch, made in NSW by Felicity at FA2U [Etsy], is a cute way to add a pop of yellow. Wear it with a summer dress or a simple white t-shirt and denim.

Yellow jade drop earrings, $35: These lovely yellow jade drop earrings from Argenton Design [Hard to Find] would dress up any little black dress.

Ring, $25: This butter-yellow resin ring from Perth-based ResinatingByMarina [Etsy] looks good enough to eat.

How do you wear yellow?
